I keep telling myself to be more positive in my posts about politics, especially after a great email chain with some close friends today. But then I read stories like this and I can’t help myself.
“Phoenix-based Honeywell Aerospace plans to move 700 manufacturing jobs from Phoenix to Mexico and the Czech Republic. “
Why would they do that?
“The announcement came two days after Barack Obama, who has promised to
take a hard line with companies that move manufacturing jobs overseas,
was elected the 44th U.S. president.”
In my opinion, Obama’s promise to work to increase union membership is the main reason, but the “hard line” also doesn’t help.
I’ll hand this to Obama. He sure is getting things done.
