I was doing some research for work and came across this page of medical statistics. Most of them are somewhat interesting, but the one I really found disturbing was this one, for May of 1998:
“Percentage of parents who say that they would abort a fetus found to be predisposed to obesity: 11″
There are about 4 million children born in the US every year. That means there are 8 million parents out there (whether they’re still with the other parent or not). 11% of 8 million is 880,000 parents. At one child per couple, that’s 440,000 children.
How many people is that?
That’s over 4 times the size of the city I live in.
That’s almost twice the number of soldiers in Iraq – yet liberals, who fight for abortion rights so people can kill potentially fat kids, decry the occupation of a country formerly under the reign of brutal dictator.
That’s 140,000 more people than were evacuated in the 2007 San Diego fires.
I cannot believe there are 880,000 people out there who think it’s okay to prevent a life because the child they have might be obese.
I’m still reading that article so I might have more later.
